Wale is no longer hip-hop's "best kept secret." He's been touted at the Next Big Thing for over two years now and really is no stranger to the hip-hop audience. The D.C. emcee has slowly built a steady fan base and made a name for himself by releasing several underground mixtapes through the years. Most notably was 2008's brilliant Seinfeld-themed Mixtape About Nothing. Now leading up to his official debut on Interscope Records, Wale has released another mixtape to further bait the waters. For Back to the Feature he teams up with underground master 9th Wonder (who produces most of the release). And much like his past mixtapes, this pretty much blows away most hip-hop being traditionally released through record labels.
You can find it all across the internet right now, but to make it nice and easy Wale has linked the free download from his website. So go get you some.
Wale's official debut album also got a release date after a long, long delay. Attention Deficit will hit record stores on September 22nd. The track list has yet to be revealed, but I'm sure that some of his past bangers will be present. Including his current single "Chillin"...
and maybe "Nike Boots"...
